Missions Ministry

The missions ministry exists to glorify God by creating opportunities to extend the gospel to the surrounding local community, as well as opportunities to serve and give towards regional, national, and global areas. We make it our priority to bear witness to the gospel in both word and deed. We recognize the significant value of sharing the gospel message through both proclamation and demonstration.

If you would like to be more involved in any of these mission opportunities, please contact us.

Community Outreach Services

COS is much more than a conventional “food pantry.” Providing a weekly dry food and produce pantry as well as a school snack program, voucher program for perishables and baby supplies and hygiene products. The Holiday food basket program is a particularly special ministry in which Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets are prepared and distributed to families in need. COS only serves the
local communities of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel. Comprised of support from 11 different churches, this volunteer ran organization utilizes Assistance Officers who help review need-based candidates and manage the contribution process to qualified families. This presents the body of Christ a great opportunity to serve the local community and extend His Love in meaningful and tangible way. Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center

Located in Sanford, Maine, the Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center is a pro-life ministry that focuses on counseling and supporting at-risk moms and their partners. This life-changing opportunity is obviously an extremely critical need in our culture and we appreciate the organizations approach to building relationships with constituents and we are happy to be involved in supporting them not just within our monthly support financially but also with special opportunities through the year such as the “Bottle Drive” and the “Walk For Life.” Keep an eye on the calendar for how you can get involved with these events. Chosen People Ministries

missions-fordsRuth and Luda Ford are located in New York City and their ministry is focused on bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to the Jewish community in that area. Bible studies, street evangelism, lectures and printed/web material are all used to open doors and communicate the saving truth to those blinded by sin. We were blessed to have them visit us this year and Randal shared his ministry in one of the Men’s Breakfasts. To learn more about this ministry, visit chosenpeople.com.

Heather Lewis

missions-heather-lewisHeather works with a ministry called Ideas based in Littleton, CO. The work she is involved with takes her to many countries of unrest, many of which are located in the Mediterranean area. In certain countries, religious persecution is creating a desperate situation. Families are fleeing after being forced to either accept the local religion or die. Because of this activity, a current project she is helping organize is called Oasis and is designed to help facilitate provision of food, clothing and shelter to these homeless refugees seeking to begin a new life. We are thankful for Heather’s commitment to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Click here to read updates from the field, and please consider emailing Heather at kzheather@gmail.com.

Larry Kessler

missions-kesslersLarry and Mary Kessler describe their ministry as “coming alongside the Russian believers and encouraging them by building supportive relationships.” Beginning with visits to a church in Perm, Russia, their ministry has expanded throughout the country. Teaching a class in a Bible School, ministering in rehabilitation centers, and encouraging Pastor’s and ministry leaders one-on-one, is just some of what Larry can be found doing throughout the year. Larry also began a program called “One Year for Jesus” in which he recruits individuals that will commit one full year to travel around the country and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Facilities and Property Care Team

The facilities and property care team exists to glorify God by using the gift of stewardship to both maintain and develop the physical resources that God has given to us. We recognize the importance of the physical world, therefore, we do not want to neglect or ignore what God has given us but desire to be faithful stewards of our resources.
